With emphasis on Nøtterøy and Tjøme
townships
(kommuner)
NEW: Google
Search has been implemented for even better, faster and more accurate
search results. Enjoy.
These webpages contain tens of
thousands of names extracted from church
records, rural
chronicles and censuses
from Vestfold County. Everything
has been put together in easily understood (and readable) web pages.
Additionally, complete GEDCOM-files
are available in the "Download"
section. These files contain all the information you will find
in the database. You will also find som extracted lines in this section.
Over 95% of these web pages are written in English thus facilitating
easy access to a broader base of researchers.
Everything you will find on these pages is TOTALLY FREE.
My policy is
to share as much as possible, and hopefully in time all
researchers
will do the same - thus benefitting all.
If you should use some of this
info, I would appreciate a link to this web page. Enjoy your stay here.
This is the largest picture
database for
Nøtterøy and Tjøme townships
(kommuner). This
section is increasing constantly. New pictures are
included as soon as I can identify them with a link into the database.
GALLERY: Here
you will
find thousands of portrait
and tombstone pictures (mixed) for individuals that exist in
the
database. Behind
each picture you will find a
RIN number (e.g. R7853-1), where "R" signifies RIN (Record
Identification Number) and e.g. the numbers
"7853-1" identify individual no. 7853 with
picture no. 1.
LOCATIONS: Here
you will find local pictures
from Vestfold. Mostly
from Nøtterøy and Tjøme townships. New sections will be added as needed.
Helge
Mengshoel
was married to G. Bergliot Hav Bjerkøe Mengshoel (see right
column) in 1972. Since then this wonderful man has been our family's
patriarch. Here on his 80th
birthday, and also here.
Helge's parents are Sigrid Sætre (Watne, Rogaland and
Brekke, Sogn
og Fjordane) and Oskar Mengshoel (Biri, Oppland and
Nes, Hedmark).
More than 1,500 names are gathered and indexed in the same manner as
the
Bjerkøe-database. Still the
two databases are kept separate (see left).
The
"Download" section
will be updated whenever there is new data
published, the same applies for new photos in the "Pictures" section.
The date for the last update will be noted for each database in the left margin.
I have had numerous daily requests for help and contact. Please
take time to read my Research Help
page (read all please). I always wish to help whenever that opportunity
arises, but I suffer from time constraints as we all do. I am so very
thankful for all received help.
